Dr. J. Michael Roach, M.D., is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has specialized in consultative and comprehensive ophthalmology since 1999. He focuses on cataract and lens implant surgery, providing complete eye exams that evaluate not only ocular health but also systemic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension that can be detected through eye care. Dedicated to innovation, Dr. Roach has contributed to the design of surgical instruments that enhance the safety of cataract surgery.
Dr. Roach practices at the Cumberland, Piedmont Eye, and Brookhaven locations of Eye Consultants of Atlanta. Patients appreciate his combination of medical expertise and compassionate care. Beyond ophthalmology, Dr. Roach has a passion for automobile safety, serving as a volunteer driving instructor for youths through the Street Survival program and as a high-performance driving instructor at U.S. race tracks. He also enjoys car restoration, competitive road and mountain biking at the state and national level, and performing music with Dr. Hamilton as part of the Macular Degenerates to raise funds for non-profit causes.
