Dr. Kuumba Long, M.D., F.A.A.O., F.A.C.S., is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Fellow of both the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the prestigious UC Davis Eye Center. Dr. Long specializes in cataract surgery, lid abnormalities, glaucoma care, and pediatric eye disease. Before joining Cataract & Laser Institute, he gained extensive experience at Indiana University’s Ophthalmology Department. Known for his compassionate care and surgical precision, Dr. Long believes in listening closely to his patients and staying at the forefront of innovation. Outside of work, he volunteers at Trinity Free Clinic and supports St. Jude Children’s Hospital. He enjoys fitness, basketball, and family time with his wife and two daughters.
Facility is old, very small. Nurses polite, nice. The surgeon was late like an hour, played rap in operating room very loud, talking business, felt like nobody pays attention to me.
I had a great experience at my last appointment. I learned a little more about why I have light sensitivity and trouble seeing at dusk. My eye doctor is so personable and down to earth. Her assistant Danyiele was the best assistant I've had there. She is was amazing. Great customer service and seemed like she truly cared.
Brought my wife here. Care and people are good. Problem is no respect for patient time. Plan on waiting a Loooonnngg time if you are here on surgery day. When she had surgery, at least 5 people had same 1:00 pm appt for surgery. Today wife is in for follow up exam. She went back 1 hour after appointment time. Still hasn't seen Dr.
I couldn't be happier with the results of my cataract surgery. The entire team was professional, caring, and dedicated to ensuring a positive outcome. My vision is now crystal clear, and I am grateful for the exceptional care provided.
