He holds board certifications in both cataract and LASIK surgery from the American Board of Eye Surgery and voluntarily recertifies every seven years. A magna cum laude graduate of Duke University and a medical graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Ferguson has served as President of the American College of Eye Surgeons and actively contributes to national and international ophthalmic education. In addition to authoring peer-reviewed articles and speaking globally, he mentors future surgeons as an assistant professor and adjunct clinical professor at multiple institutions. His dedication to excellence in eye care has earned him recognition as a Fellow of the Society for Excellence in Eye Care.
Dr. Ferguson and his staff were nothing but wonderful during my procedure. He talked me through everything he was doing and his nurses helped make sure I was as comfortable as possible. I couldn’t recommend them enough!
Couldn’t have had a better experience! Warm friendly and explained everything as they did any procedure. Read all the steps and gave you a copy on how to take care of the site not to damage your eyes. Loved it. Never had any pain at all.
I had LASIK on both eyes and the procedure was done by Dr. Ferguson. I had no discomfort or pain. The whole process lasted mere minutes. He explained broke was doing and made me feel very comfortable. I was 100% pleased with my experience.
Had little amount of wait time before prep. Everyone was caring and professional. I could see (pun intended) improvement yesterday (day of surgery) and more today. I definitely recommend Commonwealth.
