Dr. Michael Rothbaum is a board-certified ophthalmologist providing comprehensive eye care to patients of all ages in the greater Indianapolis area. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in 2001. He completed his internship at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Indiana University.
Since 2005, Dr. Rothbaum has been committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care, earning him recognition as a Top Doctor by his peers. Born and raised in Central Indiana, he is proud to serve his local community. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and four sons playing tennis, golf, and other seasonal sports. Dr. Rothbaum is honored to be your trusted eye care provider.
Been going to Dr. Rothbaum for at least the last 10 years and has expertly taken care of all my eye needs. Very talented and proficient person.

Dr Rothbaum was wonderful with my older mom who needed a new eye doctor (as she moved to the area) and cataract surgery. He was honest on when the surgery needed to be done, surgery for both eyes went well, and the process was clearly communicated. I would definitely recommend him for surgery and ongoing eye health as well.

I started seeing Dr. Rothbaum years and years ago when he was part of a large practice and was pleased to find out he had started his own practice closer to my home. Myself, my husband and our teen son are all patients. The optical department really shines. There are a lot of options and the woman who runs optical is very professional and very helpful. They have really great styles of frames available. My teen has but one request, he wishes they carried Ray Ban frames. 😀
