Dr. John Liu stands among Nebraska’s most seasoned eye surgeons, having performed thousands of laser and microsurgical procedures throughout his career. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Purdue University, Dr. Liu earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine in 1989 and completed his glaucoma fellowship at the University of Illinois Eye Center. His ophthalmology training also includes service in the United States Army, where he completed his internship and residency before being honorably discharged as a major in 1990.

As one of the few fellowship-trained glaucoma specialists in private practice across Nebraska, Dr. Liu is committed to delivering leading-edge care with a personal touch. He is board certified in ophthalmology and actively participates in continuing education programs to stay at the forefront of modern eye care. Raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Liu brings a multicultural perspective to his practice and is fluent in both Spanish and Chinese, further enhancing his ability to connect with a diverse patient population.
