He completed his residency at the Krieger Eye Institute and a glaucoma fellowship at the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins. Dr. LaBorwit also serves as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins and holds leadership roles within Vision Innovation Partners.

Dr. Scott LaBorwit is a highly respected ophthalmologist with advanced expertise in cataract, refractive, and glaucoma surgery. A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Medicine, he completed his ophthalmology residency at the Krieger Eye Institute of Sinai Hospital and went on to complete a glaucoma fellowship at the renowned Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His commitment to clinical excellence led him to found Select Eye Care, where he continues to offer leading-edge surgical and medical eye care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. LaBorwit is deeply involved in ophthalmic education and innovation. He serves as Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology on the part-time faculty at the Wilmer Eye Institute and is the Clinical Advisory Chair for Vision Innovation Partners. Nationally recognized for his contributions to the field, Dr. LaBorwit has lectured across the country and authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and textbook chapters on glaucoma and ocular trauma. His ongoing dedication to research, education, and patient care positions him as a leader in the field of modern ophthalmology.
My wife was completely happy with Dr. Laborwit. His bed side manner was refreshing and made her feel very comfortable. He explain everything to her regarding her upcoming cataract surgery. We both are extremely happy we were referred to Dr. LaBorwit.
Dr. Laborwit and his staff were so wonderful. Everything was explained to me in great length I didn't feel rushed by any of the staff. Extra caution was taken because of Covid. The surgery was quick and painless. I was recommended to the office by my brother and would recommend them to everyone, I am completely happy with the follow up care I have also received.
Dr. LaBorwit performed cataract surgery on both my eyes. The procedures went perfectly and I no longer have to wear glasses. He is an excellent surgeon and is extremely skillful. He is very patient oriented and a pleasure to deal with.
